Hey everyone here’s the list of online resources and ideas in terms of alternative forms of education:

    * The most well known is MIT’s Open Course Ware: http://ocw.mit.edu/index.html

So far there are well over 30 fields of study available, enabling anyone to continue their education at their own pace. Its really amazing what they’ve done here, as a lot of places offering post-secondary education can be money grubbers.

    * A more underground movement that’s underway is the Freeschool: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Freeschool

These exist in many different cities around the world, and take on somewhat anarchist/activist feel to them. Definitely empowering nonetheless, and I was thinking something along these lines could potentially work for the psychedelic community at large or the one that hovers towards the Salon. I don’t know what the people at Datachurch.com (last I checked Daniel Pinchbeck was involved) plan on doing, but maybe someone can tie a freeschool into it… (maybe I can help?)

    * If that’s too loose of an idea, there’s Anarchy U in Toronto: http://www.anarchistu.org/ They recently got coverage in The Globe and Mail (a well reputed newspaper in Canada): http://www.theglobeandmail.com/servlet/story/LAC….

On the up and coming front there’s the New University, a bunch of students, professors, and people from diverse backgrounds in Canada have banded together and are on their way to creating a new educational model for undergraduate/postgraduate studies: http://newuniversity.net/

You can sign up to their mailing list here: https://lists.riseup.net/www/info/universityworki… there’s on going discussion here, definitely a lot of ground has been covered and its a great place to get inspiration from for your own ideas on an alternative educational model.

Then in terms of early childhood education, I’d like to point you to the school on Cortes Island (British Columbia): http://www.linnaeafarm.org/cgi-bin/farm/show_topi

Then of course there’s the ideas that Rudolf Steiner had in regards to education (as well other things), and how that influenced the creation of Montesorri and Waldorf schools, and other similar systems.

I see that Louis has a link to a school on Cortes Island. Well, if you are heading up that way there is another great place of learning on that little island, and it is called Hollyhock. You might want to take a look at some of their workshop offerings also. http://www.hollyhock.ca/cms/

After posting this podcast I received the following from Bruce about the VR conference Terence McKenna participated in:

You may want to note somewhere that video of this event is going to be available at some point and that a link to the online description of the “AllChemical Gathering in Cyberspace” is online at:

    http://www.digitalspace.com/worlds/fan-terencem/i

(as seen from inside the virtual world). Your audience will probably enjoy seeing this. Note that the date on this was February 25th, 1999, not April.

You might recall in Hawaii I did recall visioning Terence being taken away in the crystalline polymorphic Faberge egg carriage. He said “the getaway car…”

    Keep breathing!
